THE STORY
Global Games brings together junior sports clubs from across New Zealand, with a few international teams, for a celebration of grassroots sport, competition and community.
It’s not just about what happens on the field it’s about the people, the friendships formed, and the shared experiences that come with it.
My focus was on capturing the atmosphere of the event: the energy, the emotion, and the kaupapa behind it. Through interviews, match coverage, and candid moments around the tournament, I aimed to highlight what makes Global Games unique camaraderie, sportsmanship, the buddy team system, sustainability, and the lasting memories that remain long after the final whistle.
This project is also personal to me. I understand what it’s like to be part of a touring team, and how sport can open you up to entirely new people, places, and experiences.
Across multiple events, I captured the characters and defining moments that shape Global Games, which were then crafted into event highlight films and same-day social content to reflect the broader story of the festival.
This all came together in a flagship brand film, bringing the strongest moments into one cohesive piece that positions Global Games as more than a tournament but as an experience that stays with you.
