THE STORY

Joe Edlington, better known as JE Wilds, has built a global audience through authentic stories of hunting, fishing and adventure in some of New Zealand's most remote and rugged environments.

With a lifetime of hunting and fishing experience, Joe's background in professional guiding, photography and filmmaking has taken him deep into the wilderness. Through his JE Wilds Hunting and JE Wilds Fishing channels, he shares these experiences with an audience of millions around the world.

While Joe is well known for shooting much of his content solo, I've been brought on for select projects where having a dedicated cinematographer allows us to capture the experience from a different perspective.

Filming in these environments requires a high level of trust. My role is to stay quiet and adaptable, monitor both visuals and audio, work within the environment rather than disrupt it, and be ready to capture the moments that can't be recreated.

The result is footage that maintains the authenticity of Joe's usual content while bringing a more cinematic perspective to the story.
